On Saturday, August 12th,  I  facilitated four workshops and shared my book “Coaching Your Child to Academic Success” with hundreds of parents and students in Cleveland, Ohio, who attended the  Mayor’s Youth Summit & CMSD’s Back to School Fair.  It was an awesome event and I am still energized from all of the wonderful people I met.  I would like to give a huge SHOUT-OUT to Mr. George Golden, Director of  Closing the Achievement Gap, for the invitation to present and for purchasing books to giveaway (FREE) to all parents attending my workshops.

Thank you so very much.

I had an awesome time as I shared tips on vocabulary strategies for all grade levels, Career Conversation Starters, and my ‘Check lists to College’ to name a few.

In addition, I encouraged  all parents to become a Parent P.A.C.:

  1. PARENTS AS PARTNERS with the school
  2. PARENTS AS ADVOCATES for their children
  3. PARENTS AS COACH creating a student success plan

I tell you, it’s a wonderful feeling when I am blessed to share my knowledge with others and feel their excitement.  It’s awesome when I can see it in their eyes and in there body motions that they are engaged and eager to put their new knowledge to work.  Yes!…CMSD parents are ready and on track for the new school year.

Thank you to the many parents who came up to me to say “thank you” for writing the book and for sharing my experiences with them.  I truly appreciate your interest and your willingness to be open.

It’s a new school year..parents and kids left the event excited, happy, and loaded down with school supplies of every kind; all FREE.  As a school  administrator, I was so happy for every student and their families who attend the event and I pray that they are received with just as much joy and enthusiasm on the first day of school as they felt while attending the CMSD Back to School Fair.

Wishing you much success on your journey! CynthiaDeVese.com
